Our school is situated in Lipno which is a village nearby Leszno. There are 342 students in our school now. Due to the outbreak of the war in Ukraine a lot of refugees came to Lipno, so children from Ukraine go to our school too. There are 16 of them now.
Our school consists of four buildings connected to each other. Students can use two gyms and two computer rooms. There are clasrooms for younger children (classes from 1 to 3) in the building A and there are classrooms for older students (classes from 4 to 8) in the buildings B, C and D.
Teachers in our school are quite young and dynamic staff. They take many actions which are aimed at developing the passions and interests of both Polish and Ukrainian students.
The teachers from our school would like to take part in project Erasmus+ in order to create more opportunities for students to develop. We are eager to improve our working methods which can help to involve Ukrainian children in school’s life much more
Our school takes care and helps the Ukrainian children. The first thing is that they’ve got extra Polish lessons (during there is R.E. in class’ timetable). Besides, they eagerly participate in school competitions, for example singing or art competition. They often take part in school performances such as Christmas or Teacher’s Day. The next thing is that Ukrainian children are involved in additional activites in and out of school – judo club, football club or checkers club.
Refugees from Ukraine began attending our school since the war broke out in February 2022. Their number has varied from month to month, and currently there are 16 students who attend the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades.
The school is attended by refugees from Ukraine aged seven to twelve, who attend classes with their Polish peers. Teachers create such an environment for the students so that they can find their way in our school in the best possible way.

Suleyman Demirel Secondary School is a public secondary school in the center of Sivas. We have 1 principal 2 vice principals 59 teachers and 755 students. Partly because we are in a rural area, we have 32 migrant students from Afghanistan and Syria. Education has been carried out in our school for 25 years. We have clubs in many subjects from sports to art, science to technology. Extra courses are offered on weekends and some weekdays to improve academic achievement. Senior students meet with their teachers during lunch breaks through the coaching system to discuss their problems or do extra lessons. Every year, about 30 of our students are placed in high schools that take students by exam in Sivas, which is a great success for us as it is very difficult to get into those schools and our school is a suburban school. At the same time, our school also works in the field of sports. Our students can attend courses in gymnastics, taekwondo, table tennis, soccer, handball and volleyball.
We apply values education in our school although it may fall small and weak in today’s fastly changing world. We choose a topic each month and we deal with it in the lessons or breaks, This methodology however is not sufficient. We have always wanted that values education should not be ignored in the world of developing technologies and that values education should be given great importance. The Erasmus+ project partnership will enable us to make values education more efficient, integrated and sustainable at school, provincial and international level. We are very willing to work on this issue as teachers.
The social and economic situation of our students is generally not good and the number of disadvantaged students (parents divorced or refugees) is almost half of the students in the school. The age of our students is between 10-14 years old. Most of our students do not acquire some values today, there are missing values that they did not get from the family or from primary school. Our students need to learn human values and European values as well. Our students can attend courses in gymnastics, taekwondo, table tennis, soccer, handball, volleyball, and we have over 100 medals and awards in these fields. In Turkish folk dances, our female students won the first prize in Sivas and represent us nationwide. The travel and tourism club takes our students to historical and cultural places to visit in Sivas. The social solidarity and solidarity club is constantly working actively for students in need at our school or for those who need help in our province.
